Hey guys!
On Monday, I finally got around to making the wreath I’ve been drooling over for our master bedroom! I’m so happy with how it turned out! Just like I always dreamed.
Here was my original inspiration from Etsy. Yeah, $58 was just not happening and imitation is the finest form of flattery, right?
So, after drooling for about 6 months, I got down to making my own!
I started with this gem that I picked up at the thrift shop a few weeks ago for $1.99.
I took out all of the decoration that somebody worked so hard on. Sorry!
Then I cut up some strips of burlap and muslin in different lengths for my rosettes.
I did a lot of twisting and folding and spinning and gluing and came out with some super cute flowers to fill up my wreath.
I folded some strips of burlap up and glued them to make the fans that are on each end.
Then, I laid them all out on the wreath before gluing them down. It wasn’t looking full enough, so I bunched up some more fabric real fancy-like and filled in the gaps. I put a few pearl accents on some of the rosettes and the fans and voila!
After wrapping some jute twine around the opposite side and on the top (for hanging) it was all done!
I’m loving it! I have big plans for it in our bedroom, but there is still a little more prep work that has to go in before I can show you! It will probably be a while, so don’t hold your breath =] I’m not known for being prompt with my projects!
What do you think?
