When I started this blog a few years ago, it was just a way for me to keep my very spread out family up-to-date on what we were up to. It has slowly evolved into more of a DIY/home/craft blog and while I’m by no means a big blog, I want to make sure I am keeping myself open to new opportunities (whatever they may be).
After doing a lot of research and brainstorming, I think it’s time to retire the name Reineke Ramblings. Choosing a new name will allow me to better unify everything if say, I want to incorporate an Etsy shop in the future (totally going to happen). It’ll also help new readers to more easily identify what it is I do.
When I first started considering a name change, I didn’t think it’d be a big deal. But, I’ve found myself feeling really confused and even guilty about switching things up. I’m probably totally crazy. Reineke Ramblings is my little happy place and I’ve worked really hard on making it so.
That being said, I can’t get myself to feel totally content with keeping the name. So, at the risk of sounding totally cheesy, my heart is leading me toward the name Place in Progress. This name is making me really excited (for new possibilities) and nervous (will you guys still like me?). Nothing much is going to change around here. A new look for the blog and more regular posting (whaaat?!), but this Reineke will still be here to ramble your little ears (eyes?) off. And not to worry, you will still get your regular dose of my babies (mom).
Once I set up the new domain, all of my archives will not be lost. Everything will transfer and be just as easy to find. I still haven’t figured it out, so we can explore together.
Thanks for all of your input on the new name! I’m sure my mom and sister are relieved that I won’t be going on and on about it anymore (no promises, though).
